Whether you'd end up becoming a fighter pilot or bomber pilot, you'd have to concur the T-6 Texan during your training in WW2. The Texan trained thousands upon thousands of pilots throughout the war becoming one of the most successful training aircraft of all time used in all branches of the military. T-6 Texans have been used in foreign military service up until as recent as 1995! There are quite a few T-6 Texans that fly at airshows and as trainers still today in civilian hands.
