Often forgotten next to the planes and pilots, mechanics have been the unsung heroes of war throughout time. While the pilots and crew were subjected to uncountable dangers, it would be the mechanics who would be up for days at a time fixing aircraft with over night repairs so that the aircraft would be ready by the next morning or mission. From repairing bullet holes, broken engines, and blown out controls to ripped apart tails, heavily damaged or missing wings these men would be waiting for the aircraft to return (if they did return) to immediately get to work to get it back to what the pilots and crew need to complete their next mission.
